Hey a quick question. I am going to redi center for csx 7/8. My brother helped get me a job there. He is a train master. He will be my boss. Im the younger brother. Well 45 yrs old. Lol do you think i will catch a bunch of shit for him getting me this job. I really could care less what people think. Just your opinion. My brother is very well respected at csx.

So as a conductor that will be at a terminal with only yard work or local routes. Will it be possible for me to get extra money

It all good but with job insurance, union dues you don’t make that much once taxes are taken out! I was a conductor for 7 years pays good but on the road 7 days a week, no life can’t plan anything it’s not that great! What people do t realize is that a years time you spend a lot of money in just job insurance and union dues

I’m not a railroader and don’t plan to be but I’m very intrigued by the videos and the work life balance. I always kinda thought my work life balance sucks. But my schedule has absolutely nothing on you railroad’s schedule. But I really commented on this to tell you about the Royer Boot. My work provides us. They are a Canadian boot company but damn they are warm and very very comfortable.

Better off with a shipyard trade welding or fitting, NewportNews shipyard pays 30 to 45 dollars an hour,and contractors make that with $145-150 a day per diem.
